MongoDB Training

Overview

The one-day course is a mix of presentations and hands-on lab exercises, designed for Java developers. The course progressively talks about NoSQL and MongoDB features and explains each feature with respect to implementing common use-cases in Java-applications. As part of the course, there are some simple programs/exercises which need to be done by the participants, to solidify the concepts discussed during the course.

Objective

After the completion of the course, the participants would have learnt (and hopefully tried on their own) most important NoSQL/MongoDB concepts. They would also have some understanding of best-practices that should be followed when working with MongoDB.

Pre-requisites for participants

The participants are expected to have a good understanding of the following concepts/technologies.

  • Java
  • Basic understanding of Databases
  • Good to have understanding of javascript and JSON

 

Course Outline:

Day 1

  • Introduction to NoSQL

  • Introduction to MongoDB

  • Installing MongoDB

  • Using MongoDB Shell

  • Using MongoDB with Java/Groovy

  • Importing & Exporting Data

  • Advanced Concepts like Server Side Scripting, Map Reduce etc.

  • Exercise
