Groovy and Grails Training

Overview

The two day course is a mix of presentations and hands-on lab exercises, designed for Java developers. The course progressively talks about Groovy and Grails features and explains each feature with respect to implementing common use-cases in web-applications. As part of the course, there are some simple programs/exercises which need to be done by the participants, to solidify the concepts discussed during the course.

Objective

After the completion of the course, the participants would have learnt (and hopefully tried on their own) most important Groovy and Grails concepts. The participants will have necessary knowledge about Groovy and Grails for using them for web-development. They would also have some understanding of best-practices that should be followed when working with Groovy and Grails.

Pre-requisites for participants

The participants are expected to have a good understanding of the following concepts/technologies.

• Java
• Java web-container (Tomcat, Jetty)
• RDBMS (MySQL, Postgres, Oracle)
• Web Programming concepts (HTTP protocol, Request, Response)
